Dr. Will Bender named ECCC Director of Operations

William Bender, MD, has been named the ECCC Director of Operations, effective September 1, 2024, as Dr. Sterling transitions out of this role.  

Dr. Bender started at Emory in 2015 and quickly ascended into critical care leadership roles at ESJH serving as the Unit Medical Director of 2E/2W ICUs since 2018 and also the Site Director for Critical Care at ESJH. In his new role as Director of Operations, he will partner with ECCC leadership, ECCC faculty, APPs and other staff as well as many system leaders to help lead annual ICU scheduling, enhance quality initiatives such as OPPEs, and work to optimize operations within the ECCC.
