Admission Criteria
Our program now offers three start dates per year. Please refer to the chart below to apply based on your anticipated graduation date:

Eligible Applicants:
- Any licensed ACNP/AGACNP or PA.
- Current ACNP/AGACNP or PA students enrolled in an accredited program.
- Family NPs are not eligible to apply.

All applicants are required to submit a short video letter of interest. Instructions on what to cover, video length, and how to upload the file are provided within the form itself. - Send the Reference Form Link to Your Three References:
Applicants must have three professional references complete our separate Microsoft Forms Reference Form (link provided below).- One reference MUST be from your PA/NP Program Director if you graduated within the last 2 years (this must be the actual Program Director—not an assistant director, faculty advisor, or clinical coordinator).
- The other two references should come from clinical preceptors who are familiar with your clinical experience, clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and professionalism.
- References will submit their responses directly via the Microsoft Forms link: https://forms.office.com/r/8CcUubJDC2
Responses are anonymous to you and will only be viewed by Program Faculty.
- Important Reminders:
- Incomplete applications, including missing video submissions or incomplete references, will not be considered for interviews.
- Applications that do not meet these requirements will not move forward in the selection process.
- Important Integrity Note:
Our program relies on the honor system and expects all applicants to handle the reference process with honesty and professionalism. Falsifying reference submissions—including completing the reference form on behalf of your recommenders—will result in your application being disqualified from consideration.
As part of our process, we may contact your references directly to confirm that they submitted their responses.

Requirements Prior to Program Start Date
- National Board Certification required for both NPs and PAs prior to start of fellowship. Please note that you do not need these prior to the interview process.
- GA license for NPs as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
- GA license for PAs
Technical, Non-Academic Standards
- Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with patients, their families, and members of the health care team
- Candidates must possess the motor function to perform physical examinations and procedures
- Candidates must possess cognitive abilities and effective learning techniques to assimilate the detailed and complex information presented in the educational and clinical curriculum
- Candidates must demonstrate behavioral and social attributes that lend toward maturity and emotional stability. They must be able to function within the legal and ethical standards of the practice of critical care medicine
Application Deadline
- May Cohort: Applications open from July 1 - October 1
- Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 Cohorts: Applications open from January 1 - March 17.
Acceptance and Program Start
- Notification of your acceptance will be received within 2 weeks of your interview
- Program start dates are in January, May and November of every year.
