How to Apply


Admission Criteria

Our program now offers three start dates per year. Please refer to the chart below to apply based on your anticipated graduation date:

Eligible Applicants:

  • Any licensed ACNP/AGACNP or PA.
  • Current ACNP/AGACNP or PA students enrolled in an accredited program.
  • Family NPs are not eligible to apply.

How to apply: 

  • Include the supporting documentation in your application as well as submit all documentation to Eumekia Wright.
  • Curriculum Vitae/Resume.
  • One page Statement of Interest.
  • Education Transcripts from the masters/doctorate nurse practitioner or physician assistant program. If you are a current student, send a transcript which reflects your most recent student status.
  • Copy of BLS and ACLS cards (must be American Heart Association issued).
  • Three reference letters written within the last 12 months:
    • Reference letters should address clinical experience, clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and professionalism.
    • If you have graduated within the past 2 years, submit one letter from your program director.
    • Preference for one letter submitted by a physician who has worked with you clinically.

The Emory Critical Care APP Fellowship values diversity in different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds as well as age, gender identity, disability and years of experience in the health care field.

The program does not grant advanced placement. All students must complete all Emory Critical Care APP Fellowship program requirements to graduate.

Requirements Prior to Program Start Date

  • National Board Certification required for both NPs and PAs prior to start of fellowship. Please note that you do not need these prior to the interview process.
  • GA license for NPs as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
  • GA license for PAs

Technical, Non-Academic Standards

  • Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with patients, their families, and members of the health care team
  • Candidates must possess the motor function to perform physical examinations and procedures
  • Candidates must possess cognitive abilities and effective learning techniques to assimilate the detailed and complex information presented in the educational and clinical curriculum
  • Candidates must demonstrate behavioral and social attributes that lend toward maturity and emotional stability. They must be able to function within the legal and ethical standards of the practice of critical care medicine

Application Deadline

  • May Cohort: Applications open from July 1 - October 1
  • Fall and Winter Cohorts: Applications open from January 1 - April 1.

Acceptance and Program Start

  • Notification of your acceptance will be received within 2 weeks of your interview
  • Program start dates are in January, May and November of every year.
